Thought for the Day

Today’s Challenge…..July makes us all think of summer; it makes us think of family, and good times.  It can also be a time when we think about how the first half of the year went…..and what still needs our attention?

Always do your best……reflect often, and make sure you stay on track. It has been a few months since the beginning of the year. You have learned, you have been given feedback, you have goals, and you have your intuition for guidance. You read hungrily and take in all the richness and the thinking. The question is have you acted on what you know. Because just knowing is not good enough. Being aware and mindful will not serve you if you do not act on what you know. Accountability is an inside job. It’s a commitment you make to yourself to keep learning and growing so that you can meet your goals and realize your dreams. Many of us start things, but do we finish them. Getting our lives, careers, relationships, health, and dreams done is a full time job.

We can’t give them a little shot of adrenaline and attention and then stop. We have to lean into what makes us uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. Face to face with our demons we can then set our minds to finding our way forward. Words are meaningless if they are not followed with action. So what words need more action with them? What does your heart know, that you have to do? What attention does your relationship need? What feedback have you been ignoring? What health issues do you need to address? Gently unpack these things and come up with a plan and as you do; remember there are no obstacles in life, only stepping stones of all shapes and sizes. So step out in faith today and then stick with the path…for every time we step into our discomfort with growth, we become more free.

Cheryl Strayed said “You can’t fake the core. The truth that lives there will eventually win out. It’s a god we must obey, a force that brings us inevitably to our knees. It asks eternally; Will you do it later or will you do it now?”
