Thought for the Day ~ By Lisa Scott

Monday’s Thought for the day…….

For the month of February the “Thoughts” will honour Black History Month with the wisdom of many men and women who have shared the lessons from their life experience so eloquently. The “Thoughts are always sent with an intention of giving you something to think about and if it resonates a good lesson; it occurred to me when I was gathering quotes for this month that we have been given so much wisdom, wisdom that we would do well to reflect on and apply today.

Self-love is so important to our well being……..because you cannot really give or receive love until you can give it to yourself. When we love ourselves we protect our spirit from needless pain, we love ourselves enough to establish boundaries and then we honour them with our choices. It will not be enough to read voraciously and collect a library of spiritual books, that only leads to knowing, and knowing is not doing.

Applying the wisdom and using the knowledge as a guidance system for your life, will be the ultimate transition. The transition from just an intellectual experience to a more spiritual one. Your actions toward yourself and others are your way of making deposits in the universal bank. It is easy to be good to nice people, but the true litmus test is how you treat everyone.

Remember when we give judgment and criticism to others, we give the same to ourselves. When you fill your life with love, you will find that is what you receive from the world. So read, go to seminars, keep taking on new knowledge but be committed to mastery of what you learn…….this is how we evolve and reach our personal goals.

Dr. Martin Luther King in his acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 “I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why temporarily defeated is stronger than evil triumphant.”
