Thought for the Day ~ By Lisa Scott Life Coach

Trust in the ebb and flow of life……..stress, worry, and anxiety simply come from projecting your thoughts into the future and imagining something bad.  If you think about each time that life sent you a curve ball, you will recall that you resolved it, made it through, made positive change, or learned to live differently, and you can do that again.  Life teaches us what we can handle and how best to do it.  We need to trust in ourselves, to know that we can walk out of the valley and reach new summits.  We  need to remember what we are capable of and trust that we can respond well to whatever life sends our way.

Examine your values and priorities closely…..make sure that they are your own and not the ones imposed by society.  In the selecting of our values we must ensure that they are an authentic  representation of how we truly think…..or we can easily be seduced by material things and experience stress because we don’t have them.  As friends, parents,  and leaders we have a responsibility to teach people not only how to experience joy when things are going well…but how to respond when they don’t go well.  If we are never allowed to fall, then we never learn how to get back up.

Iyanla Vanzant said “You cannot realize the meaningful fruits of a commitment or an agreement if you do not have trust.  Trust is the belief that you will do what you say you will do, regardless of what anyone else is doing.  This does not mean that you should not expect people to honour their word.  Trust as the foundation of any relationship, means knowing what you know about yourself, being willing to share that information with the other people involved and believing that what you know about yourself can and will get you through whatever happens.  When you don’t trust yourself, you will find it hard to trust anyone else.”
