Thought for the Day ~ By Lisa Scott Life Coach

Always do your best……….and be open to learning your whole life through.  People who see their learning as a destination…….and say ok I have the degree, I’m done, do themselves a huge injustice.  Our character, inner security, and unique talents are cultivated as children, and they grow throughout our lives.  We are influenced by family, friends, mentors, and associates.  We are exposed to training and development and coaching in our business lives, and as we grow and mature we are meant to learn from our life experiences and put that learning into being better friends, better parents, and better human beings. Our world becomes larger as a result of continuous improvement thinking.

Conversely, if we stop, if we cling to what has worked in the past, and what we already know then our world remains small, we remain small and we commit the ultimate injustice of living less of a life than the one we could have had.  So spend some time as we draw closer to the end of the year thinking retrospectively, holistically, and understand where you have the greatest opportunity to take your learning to the next level.  Face your fears head on……because you are staring at your limits if you do nothing to overcome them.  Remember the discomfort of transformation is much better than the emptiness of regret.

Stephen R. Covey said “In all of life there are stages or processes of growth and development.  We know and accept this fact in the area of physical things, but understanding it in emotional areas, in human relations, and even in the spiritual area is less common and more difficult.  You can be a transition person – a change for the better between the past and the future. A negative tendency that’s run through your family for generations can stop with you.  And your change can affect many, many lives down-stream.  What is most important is to live, love, laugh, and leave a legacy.”
