Thought for the Day ~ By Lisa Scott Life Coach

Always do your best……..it is useful to think about what it’s like to have a conversation with you…….how you tell your story, and whether that story changes and grows or stays the same.  Some people tell their story over and over, they blame, they make excuses, they talk about all the things that are outside of their control and they never take the steps that would move them out of their holding pattern and into their best life.  Henry Ford taught us “say you can, or say you can’t, either way you’ll be right”  and he was right…..what we believe about our circumstances, and what we believe is possible in our lives is always supported by our experiences.

The easy thing to do is point the finger at what is happening now, or what has happened in the past as if it was a predictor for the future, a defining moment for who you will become.  Rather it’s your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you’re going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.  If you are the person looking for reasons why things won’t work, if your cynicism shows up before you do, if your patterns have you judging and taking people down then your life will be an accurate representation of that thinking.  Imagine if you were to decide not to be the killer in the kingdom and instead you focused your intentions on what you can do, on what is possible instead of impossible…..imagine the power that comes with ALWAYS DOING YOUR BEST…….

Anthony Robbins said “Decide what you really want and what’s preventing you from having it now.  We must remember that we get whatever we focus on in life.  If we keep focusing on what we don’t want, we’ll have more of it. The first step to creating any change is deciding what you do want so that you have something to move toward.  We must also learn that what’s preventing us from having what we want.  Invariably, what’s preventing us from making the change is that we link more pain to making change than to staying where we are.  If we want to create change then we have to realize that it’s not a question of whether we can do it, but rather whether we will do it.”
