Thought for the Day ~ By Lisa Scott Life Coach

Always do your best……..to be the best that you can be.  The person who seems to always find the negative, seldom finds anything else.  You’d be hard pressed to find too many successful complainers in this world.  So we must commit to living our life as an exclamation, not an explanation.  Your words and demeanour reflect what you believe about your future.  They are the most powerful tools you have…….your words can destroy a spirit or they can motivate someone to pursue their dreams.  If you treat someone as they are, they will remain the same.  Yet if you treat them as if they were what they could be, they can become what they could be.

We grow to the extent that we give out.  By giving out, you create more room to grow on the inside.  So find the good in people, draw out their talents, encourage them to grow their abilities and most of all believe in them.  When we were born, we had unlimited amounts of optimism, creativity and imagination……those gifts are diminished ever so slowly by the well meaning world around us.  Ultimately doing your best means returning to that place of optimism and kindness, for there is a common thread that runs through the lives of exceptional people.  Their “never give up” principle for success carries them through the valleys of life……and always delivers them to the peaks.  Ultimately, your success will be measured by your willingness to keep on trying.

Stephen R. Covey said “Look at the weaknesses of others with compassion, not accusation.  It’s not what they’re doing, not doing, or should be doing that’s the issue.  The issue is your own chosen response to the situation and what you should be doing. Be a light, not a judge.  Be a model not a critic.  Primary greatness means character and contribution.  Secondary greatness is prestige and wealth and position.”
