Thought for the Day ~ Hang out with Positive People

Choose your friends and associates well……hang out with positive people because you will never live beyond the impact of the five people you spend the most time with on your journey.  Life is way too short to get stuck with negative people.  We have all been around people who try as they might, just can’t seem to find the goodness, the gems, or the light in their lives.  They have no positive energy for their own lives and they certainly don’t bring it to yours.  You recognize their energy…..you sense how they make you feel worse rather than better when you spend time in their company.  You question why you go there and rightly so….there is no point hanging out with people who suck the energy out of you and leave you feeling drained.

While physical clutter is something that we remove from our living space.  We sometimes forget that we may need to clear some of the people clutter in our life.  Because even though we all have bad days….the people we hang out with should have interesting points of view,  be people who make us feel good talking to them, who support and nurture us and generally are more enthusiastic than they are critical.  We make choices about everything in life……and choosing our friends is one of the most important choices we make.  We need to enjoy our friends and be able to trust that they have our best interests at heart…..and that their heart shows up to prove it.  One of the true marks of greatness is to develop greatness in others.

Richard Templar said “If you want to be successful in your life, at work, socializing, you need to be aware that there are two groups of people to hang out with.  First, there are those who lift you up, are positive about life, have energy, and enthusiasm, walk their walk, talk their walk and generally make you feel great to be alive.  And then there are the moaners, who bring you down to their level of inactivity.  The second group are the group to hang out with if you want to make things happen and be happy.  So hang out with positive, smart people.  I mean people who feel life is an exciting challenge worth wrestling to the ground and having fun with.”
