Thought of the Day

Good Morning,

Happy Tuesday. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy.

Lisa

This Thought is written in memory of my Father Dennis James Hammond….love you forever.

Celebrate the lives of those who matter to you, everyday……. and when a life ends we must remind ourselves that beneath all the pain, the sadness, and the grief ….there is love. A love that began when I was born,  and that love journeyed with me throughout your life. It wasn’t always easy, the love between a parent and a child is never smooth sailing all of the time. But it is filled with memories of being loved,  always being told, I was loved, and being taught great lessons, strong values, that included the importance of family; of culture, and living with integrity. You were a father that we could depend on and put our trust in.   Your love of life is not surpassed by many….you truly took each day for all it could offer.

Your strong, positive, demeanour went out into the world each day and I remember watching as a child and thinking how much people loved you. Your charisma, and strength were evident in how you engaged people and they responded in kind. You will forever be my Cancer surviving hero; what you endured with such grace is just another example of your strength. I can’t quite imagine a world without you in it yet. But I will lean into the lessons that you shared and modeled. I will remember that peace is not the avoidance of  pain; rather, it is the calm resilience that comes with letting love flow. That where I am now is where serenity resides. And in the early morning light, that is where I can just be with my thoughts and therefore with you….and so one step at a time I will walk the most arduous journey in this circle of life.  Rest in Peace Dad. Love you Forever.

Collette said “One can resist tears and behave very well in the hardest hours of grief. But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window. Or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed. Or a letter slips from a drawer and everything collapses.”
