Today’s Challenge ~ Do the right thing every time.

Always do your best….no matter how educated, talented, rich or cool you believe you are, how you treat people, ultimately tells all. Integrity is everything. Because once we reach adulthood; we are in charge of our choices, our behaviour, and our leadership. We are 100% responsible for how we feel, and how the people around us feel. Fear is a tool used by bullies, and if you let it fear will stop you from being the best you that you can be. As human beings we don’t like the feelings of vulnerability that fear can bring on. So we armour up, we stay silent, and we choose our silence over doing the right thing.  We focus our energy on trying to manufacture a miracle out of something that is out of our control. The only way out is through. We have to lean in to our vulnerability and find our courage.

This path takes us home, it reminds us of our values and the boundaries that we must reset to feel safe and respected.  It is never worth it to subjugate ourselves just to survive. We must do the right thing, every time, in every situation. We don’t get to choose to maintain our integrity some of the time. We can all hope and pray for miracles when we are faced with situations that are all out of integrity, we can even expect that they will happen, but while the universe is working on a  miracle, we have to be courageous, we have to shed our armour and put up our boundaries. In stillness, and peace we know what is right, and what is wrong. Be an advocate for what is right. Injustice will show up in your life, but you can refuse to be emotionally immobilized by it. Namaste .

Brene Brown said “You can’t get to courage without rumbling with vulnerability. If the culture in our school, organization, place of worship, or even family requires armour because of issues like racism, classism, sexism, or any manifestations of fear based leadership, we can’t expect wholehearted engagement. Likewise, when our organization rewards armouring behaviours like blaming, shaming, cynicism, perfectionism, and emotional stoicism, we can’t expect innovative work.  You can’t fully grow and contribute behind armour. It takes a massive amount of energy to carry it around, sometimes it takes all of our energy.
