Thought of the Day

Good Morning,

Happy Wednesday. Have an amazing day. Enjoy.

Always do your best……..every day is an opportunity to live and grow. That is why it is vitally important to all of us, that we hold the mirror up from time to time. To see what others see, and to appreciate what others experience when they are with us. If we are blissfully unaware of how we impact the room, the meeting, the social gathering and the people that we share our journey with, then we miss the opportunity to see the reflection of our character. Because it’s our job to make a place in this world that belongs to us, a place where who we are and how we are is comprised of our own moral code. Not the code or values that others may impose, but the one that is ours and tells us on a visceral level what we need to do.  That code speaks to our character….it lets the world see who we truly are.

At times people and circumstance will test our character and it is in these moments that we must choose to honour ourselves. We must draw  loving boundaries around us, so that we can protect ourselves from those who would thwart our character and ask us to step out of ourselves. We must always stand in our power and live by our values and  never let anyone or anything take us away from who we are at our core. Character allows you to discern what is right and what is wrong. Character fortifies a great person so that they can plant a tree under whose shade they will never sit. Character rallies people and gives them hope. It pulls each of us through the toughest of times. For a mind at peace, a mind that is focused on not harming others, is stronger than anything in the universe.  Character truly matters. Namaste

Iyanla Vanzant said “Life is never going to give up on you because there is something important for you to do. One of the primary purposes of life is the development of character. Your character, your nature, the distinctive qualities of your essence, what makes you, you, is developed through experience. If you do not understand that character development is an important process of life, you may be tempted to give up when things get tough. You may even begin to believe that life is against you. More important , you may miss the fact that the very part of your character that requires development is being developed by your response to the things that you are walking through. What you do when your back is against the wall speaks volumes about the nature of your character.”
