Thought of the Day

Good Morning,

Happy Tuesday. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy.

A favourite lesson from my Mother was “When they’re being them, you can still be you”

Sometimes when we are in the valley of life…….our thoughts can be our worst companion. They can take us to places where we feel defeated. Where we begin to question our self-worth and our value…..we buy into the negativity that our thoughts are creating. It can become more difficult to separate what is happening to us from what we are creating with our moods and our thoughts. It is such a difficult place to rescue ourselves from, but we can. We can remind ourselves that we are not our moods or our negative thoughts. We can remember the power of choosing again. We can have the courage to make our lives better.

So if you find yourself in the valley, do not despair. Summon the best part of you, the part that knows how strong, determined, and talented you are. Set your intentions for the day, decide now that today is going to be a great day. One where positivity reigns supreme. We cannot control what people do or say, or even how they engage us. But we can control our own thoughts, reactions, and moods when we find ourselves frustrated and feeling low. We will feel depleted if we continue to give our power away to a place, or a person who doesn’t honour the best of who we are. We will feel empowered when we can rise up and give our energy to the best of who we know ourselves to be……because when they’re being them, you can still be you.

Robin Sharma said “For much of my life, I believed my thoughts were beyond my control. They just entered my mind automatically and did whatever they wished to do. Even worse, I believed that I was my thoughts. Thankfully, I discovered that nothing could be further from the truth. We are not our thoughts. Instead we are the thinker of our thoughts. We are the creators of the thoughts that flow through our minds and, given this fact, we can change our thoughts if we choose to do so. This seemingly obvious insight was an epiphany for me. I soon became far more aware of the thoughts I allowed in my mind and the inner dialogue that takes place within everyone of us.”
