Thought of the Day

Today’s Challenge ~ Leave people better than you found them, catch them doing things right. Offer small random acts of kindness to everyone today.

Always do your best…..make deposits in your love account. We all need a gentle reminder from time to time to pay attention to the things that really matter. How hard you work, doesn’t really matter. How much you give to your relationships does. Because you can’t make withdrawals from an empty account. You can’t lean on the people you need and love if you haven’t made daily deposits in their love account. People will either know you as a strong, loving, kind, compassionate human being….or they will know you as a taker, a driver, a person who only reaches out when you need something. So we must show moderation in all things, except love.

If a relationship needs healing, then we must treat that person as if they are already what they could be. Momentum comes from catching people doing things right, and recognizing that they have unlimited potential. Because if all we discuss is how they aren’t where they need to be….we reinforce that their account with us is empty. A love account contains, trust, faith, and the spirit of can do. That account inspires the person to be all that they can be and in the process of making deposits we share a little of what we are good at doing. Kindness is wisdom….and remember that wisdom shared could turn someone’s life around for the better.  In the spirit of wisdom offered by Winston Churchill….we make a living by what we get…but we make a life by what we give. Robin Sharma said “As Mother Teresa once said “There are no great acts. There are only small acts done with great love” What small acts can you do today to deepen the bonds between you and the people you value the most? What random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty can you offer to someone in an effort to make his or her day just a little better. To practice being more loving, create a love account. Each day, make a few deposits in this very special reserve by doing something small to add joy to the life of someone around you. If there is one thing I have learned in this life, the small things are the big things.”
