Thought of the Day

Always do your best……..listen to the whispers of your soul. Hopefully, you have had some time to pause and reflect for the past few days. Some time to refuel and shake the cob webs from your auto pilot brain. If we are to live whole heartedly we must commit to reflection. We must be gentle with ourselves and take the time to listen to our souls. While much of our life seems to be our reactions to external factors and circumstance….there is a space for us to reflect and determine what we must do to navigate the natural ups and downs of life. A space where we can feel that we have some control over what we experience.  Deep in your thinking  is a place that knows….it knows you, it knows whether you are alright and it knows what you must do to bring harmony to your life.

So if you were to ask yourself….if I was 5% more courageous…what would I do? What are your answers? What do you know that you must do? As adults we are responsible for the impact we create with our actions and our words. We know that those actions and words have power….they can either be power for good or they have the power to destroy. Everything you do communicates. So if you have regrets, examine your intentions, your words, and your actions. Look for places where you can elevate your game. Look at times when you have lacked empathy, or courage and forgive yourself. Then decide what you will do differently. Use what you have been through as fuel, believe in yourself and be unstoppable. If people won’t meet you half way, keep walking towards them, that way you will reach them even if they refuse to move; then you can invite them to walk alongside you.

Brene Brown said “If there is one thing failure has taught me, it is the value of regret. Regret is one of the most powerful emotional reminders that change and growth are necessary. In fact, I’ve come to believe that regret is a kind of package deal. A function of empathy, it’s a call to courage and a path toward wisdom. Like all emotions, regret can be used constructively or destructively, but the wholesale dismissal of regret is wrongheaded and dangerous. “No regrets” doesn’t mean living with courage, it means living without reflection. To live without regret is to believe you have nothing to learn, no amends  to make, and no opportunity to be braver with your life.”
