Thought of the Day

The days come and go quickly……and they seem to pick up speed. The more busyness claims us, the more we talk about being able to get off the tread mill of life to find balance and harmony. If we are not mindful, we will find ourselves living the same day over and over like a video that rewinds and plays. We scold and shame ourselves for not making more time for ourselves and our families. We claim new levels of exhaustion, and talk endlessly of finding time for self-care. But we don’t make the time. It is as if we are being paid for exhaustion instead of results. He/she who works the hardest wins. Not so. To live our best lives we must also define ourselves outside of our work and our roles.

We must find our purpose and use our voice. We need to speak up about things that matter to us and to our world. Silence and indifference will ensure that this world will become more insane than it already is. So we must find our place in the world. A place where we can make a difference. To truly live a life of meaning we must also bring balance to the present moment. Understanding that when we are patient in the moment, we find our wisdom, because we discover that  what will come next will be determined in large measure by how we are now. Today, be mindful of what you say yes to and what you say no to…..listen to understand, and show empathy for how you may push others to exhaustion. Your mantra today is Love, grow, and serve. Have a magical day.

Robin Sharma said “There are no extra people alive today. Every single one of us is here for a reason, a special purpose, a mission. Yes, build a beautiful life for yourself and those you love. Yes, be happy and have a lot of fun. And yes, become successful, on your own terms rather than on those suggested to you by society. But, above all else, be significant. Make your life matter. Be of use. And be of service to as many people as possible. This is how each of us can shift from the realm of the ordinary into the heights of the extraordinary, and walk among the best who have ever lived.”
