Thought of the Day

Good Morning,

Happy Tuesday. Have a beautiful day. Enjoy.

Always do your best……it is not about what happens to us, it’s how we think about it. Life is going to happen, the good, the bad, and the ugly. So early on in my childhood, my mother taught me the lesson of mindfulness when it comes to processing our lives. We need mindfulness to stop us from creating more drama, more pain, or more angst when life delivers a rough patch. We also need to use what we know about people and situations to process information. If we know a person to be kind, considerate, and compassionate, then we need to remind ourselves of that when we have difficulties with them. But if someone doesn’t respect us,  and mistreats us, then we need to believe what we see. When people show you who they are, believe them the first time. Some people go through life, trying to catch people doing things wrong.

They point out what isn’t working because they have their default set on negativity. They will never be successful, because they are like a black cloud that comes to rain on our parade. After a while, we distance ourselves from people who are constantly complaining and bringing negative energy to even the smallest task. The art of being successful is tied inextricably to a positive mindset. That mindset will serve us by helping us to learn the lessons that come from failure and loss. It will remind us that tomorrow is another day with all kinds of possibility in it. When we are in our darkest moments, that positive attitude will shine a light. But make no mistake, optimism is a choice and so is negativity. Empower yourself today and always remember that you, and you alone, are responsible for how you process what happens in your life. When you trust yourself completely, you can know yourself more deeply. That is the power of positivity.

Shawn Achor said “Intelligence counts for only 25% of our success. 75% of our success in life, and not just at our jobs but, within the world; 75% of what causes our kids to be successful, causes us to be successful is not about intelligence and technical skills. It’s how we process the world. It’s our optimism. Like the belief that our behaviour really matters. It is like the butterfly affect. Each tiny move towards a more positive mindset can send ripples of  positivity through our organizations, our families, and our communities.”
