Thought for the Day……Good Morning,
Always do your best……..understand your emotions and don’t hold onto anger. To paraphrase Buddha “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” Feelings run deep and they affect our emotions; how our emotions manifest in our lives depends on how deeply we have buried our own pain.
Anger is an emotion that can show up as a pattern and when it does we must examine the true source of that anger. If you have ever responded with anger to something seemingly unimportant and regretted your outburst later, then it is time to take an objective look at what you are really angry about. Inside that anger is fear and once you have identified what you are afraid of then you can begin to disperse the anger.
When your anger tells you to blame someone else for what is happening to you, then you are not showing gratitude and the more you blame, the worse things get. When you shift your thinking to gratitude, you automatically shift your experience with it. So choose a difficult relationship and find the goodness, record why you’re grateful for that relationship. Let the healing begin………
Toni Morrison said “Anger … it’s a paralyzing emotion … you can’t get anything done. People sort of think it’s an interesting, passionate, and igniting feeling —- I don’t think it’s any of that —- it’s helpless … it’s absence of control —- and I need all of my skills, all of the control, all of my powers … and anger doesn’t provide any of that —- I have no use for it whatsoever.”
