Always do your best…….nurture your friendships and relationships. Life is constantly changing…people come and go from our lives, and priorities shift. Still it is important to nurture those relationships and friendships that we cherish because they are an important dimension of our life experience. When life picks up the pace it is easy to forget that we are multi faceted, and while at times, we may place more focus on one part of our lives than another, we cannot neglect our many roles and relationships. So we must take care of the temple…..and be careful not to neglect the parts of ourselves that make us whole.
Trust is the basis of every human relationship and we build trust when we keep our word, invest in our friendships, and honour our holistic selves, not just one part. Diversification in life is just as important as it is when you invest financially……because if you place all of your effort in only one area of your life…when that changes, what will be left? So stay connected to family, to friends, and to significant others……kids grow up and move away and life keeps going, and if we haven’t invested in those trusted relationships….life will feel lonely and empty.
Robin Sharma said “Everyone on this planet – and I mean everyone has a story to tell and a lesson to teach. The problem is that most of us are so busy and so full of our own stuff, that we don’t take the time to learn from those around us. We may have busy careers and families that demand our attention, but a great life is made up of great relationships. If you want to be happier in life, get more connected to the people around you and watch the joy you feel grow. Fulfillment in life does not come from collecting more things. It comes from feeling more love.”
