Always do your best……..there is a difference between stating your preferences and making a decision…..stating your preferences requires no commitment, no change, and no results……while making a decision gets us off the fence, it means committing to achieving a result, and then cutting yourself off from any other possibility. This kind of clarity and focus allows us to produce the life we truly want, one that allows us to shape our destiny. Too often we allow the things that happen in our lives to write on the slate of who we become, we act powerless when in fact all the power resides in us…..and it comes from clarity, purpose, and action. Clarity always precedes mastery.
It is not what’s happening now, or what happened in the past that defines us….rather it is our decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to us, and what action we have to take in order to create the results we desire. Our core beliefs about what is possible in our lives, our reactions to our life experiences, and our emotional responses, are the true catalyst for whether we take action or not. They speak to our unconscious mind and they govern our decision making capability.
To truly realize our own personal power we have to examine how we process information and our life’s experiences. Do you talk endlessly about your situation? Do the same problems and pain bodies surface in your life…..and if you are brutally honest with yourself…..isn’t it because you have not made a decision, you have not committed to a plan, you are allowing your fears of the unknown to govern your decision making? So use what life gives you in the moment, learn from it, and take action. It is only when you stop making decisions in your life…..that you give your power away.
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe said “Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth – that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.”
