Manage your thoughts and you will tap into your power………..if we could forget our troubles as easily as we forget our blessings, life would be a lot better. Ever notice how the mind can be a steel trap for negativity; once a thought gets in our head it just multiplies and before we know it we have worked ourselves into a negative frenzy and we become the proverbial black cloud. The key influence in these situations is our internal speak, and the thoughts that we associate with the events in our lives.
We always have a choice in how we will respond and yet we tend to respond by taking things personally, making assumptions based on our bad feelings and then we imagine the worst thing that can happen. None of these actions actually aid us in being able to engage fully in our life; in fact honouring our bad feelings only serves to make us feel worse, while holding us in that place of misery. When you stumble or lose your footing, deal with the facts not the drama in your head.
You will face some difficult times in your life and you will likely face more……but you are here, you made it through and what you can do once, you can do again. Life is a process of taking what you have and turning it into something worthwhile. An opportunity to learn and expand our souls, after all if you enjoy now, tomorrow is a joy. Marcus Aurelius said “If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.”
