Thought for the Day ~ By Lisa Scott Life Coach

Always do your best……..be humble and stay connected to gratitude.  Gratitude keeps you thankful for where you are, rather than always projecting your happiness into the future.  There can be no value or virtue in hanging onto pain of any kind.  The merit comes in how you lift yourself out of the moments of despair, pain, and grief.  When we feel like our life is missing joy….when we give too much power to our bad feelings, we are getting messages that need our attention.  Feelings buried do not die, so it is imperative to our well-being that we acknowledge those feelings and then create the shift to gratitude.  A shift in our thinking always creates a shift in our experience.

So give yourself the gift of gratitude every day.  Breathe in deeply and direct your conscious thoughts towards the things that are burdening you.  Connect to the lessons that the situation gives your heart, mind, and body.  There is always a hidden blessing in your life experiences, such as your learning patience, compassion, forgiveness, strength, and the art of letting go.  Important to our wellness that we release the hurt, acknowledge the lesson and then be grateful for the gift of learning.  For whenever we feel we cannot get through one more thing, or one more day, we must remind ourselves that we have made it through 100% of what life has thrown our way to date. Today, open your arms to the gift of peaceful resolution, healing, and miracles.

Oprah Winfrey said “Being grateful all the time isn’t easy.  But it’s when you feel least thankful that you are most in need of what gratitude can give you: perspective.  Gratitude can transform any situation.  It alters your vibration, moving you from negative energy to positive.  It’s the quickest, easiest, most powerful way to effect change in your life – this I know for sure.  Here’s the gift of gratitude:  In order to feel it, your ego has to take a back seat.  What shows up in its place is greater compassion and understanding.  Instead of frustration, you choose appreciation.  And the more grateful you become, the more you have to be grateful for.  Say thank you now…..because you know the rainbow is coming.”
