You are not your moods………….you are the creator of the moods you experience, moods that you can change at will. If we are aware of the thoughts that we allow to develop in our minds, if we can catch ourselves on that slippery slope when our thoughts are feeding a sour mood then we can alter the trajectory of our minds and find peace and stillness where we only felt stress. Allowing a mood to fester and become entrenched in our day is a selfish act in that everyone we encounter will “wear that mood” and somehow feel our wrath and they will have done nothing to deserve such treatment.
So pull yourself together; calm your mind, do not allow any assumptions to form or take hold, decide that today is going to be a great day and then make it so. If we can be angered in 30 seconds then why can’t we be calm in 30 seconds ……….everything is based on awareness of the mind and managing it effectively. Negative energy must be acknowledged and changed so that we can get on with a productive day. As you move into your day…..feel your mood and measure your thoughts and if there is any negativity……diminish it by turning your thoughts to gratitude. After all there is so much to be thankful for in this life…..start there and then you will find the magic in every day.
Robin Sharma said “For much of my life, I believed my thoughts were beyond my control. They just entered my mind automatically and did whatever they wished to do. Even worse, I believed that I was my thoughts. Thankfully, I discovered that nothing could be further from the truth. We are not our thoughts. Instead we are the thinkers of our thoughts. We are the creators of the thoughts that flow through our minds and, given this fact, we can change our thoughts if we choose to do so.”
