Doing your best……means thinking great thoughts and then taking action. In today’s busy world we run on adrenalin and as a result we are always looking for quick fixes in life. 95% of us have 30-50% more than we can handle so adrenalin becomes our energy source. We may put our energy into our work, our friends and families, or both but we must also make time for ourselves. Our bodies are over stimulated so our mind follows and in this place we think of all the things we must do and unless we create space in our lives for them, we will never realize those goals.
Another reason that we work so hard is that we are afraid. Few of us admit it but most of us live in fear that we won’t achieve our goals, receive the results that we expect or fulfill our hearts desires. Reflection allows us to see where we spend our time and whether those choices are serving us. You see, we lose sight of the things that make us happy…our interests and desires get put to sleep as we do our best to handle the stress of daily living. So today look at your schedule and remember that it is infinitely more productive to schedule your priorities, rather than trying to prioritize your schedule, and if you’re not on your schedule then you should reschedule.
Robin Sharma said “The things that get scheduled are the things that get done. Until you schedule something, it’s only a concept. Extraordinary people don’t build remarkable lives on concepts. They build their greatness on action and near flawless execution around their deliverables. They get things done. When you get back to doing those things that lifted your spirit and sent you soaring, you reconnect with a state of happiness that you may have lost. And part of the purpose of life is to be happy….really happy.”
