Be aware of your ego……..because your ego wants to win, it wants to be right, and it wants to be personally attached to all success and it wants those things all of the time. If you are operating from your egoic point of view then you have slipped away from conscious living and you have fallen into believing that the world revolves around you. With that belief you become self-centred and then no one will ever measure up to the lofty ideals that your judgement places on them.
Until you are willing to be vulnerable, you will not be able to trust yourself. You will not know how far you can go or how much you can do. Until you are willing to let down your guard, to make a mistake, to take risks, then you will not realize your authentic self. Your ego does not learn lessons, it does not take people’s feelings into consideration, rather it judges and labels in order to make itself feel better. Unless you can get comfortable with being uncomfortable then you cannot live beyond your ego….you cannot return to your authentic self.
Eckhart Tolle said “How quick we are to form an opinion of a person, to come to a conclusion about them. It is satisfying to the egoic mind to label another human being, to give them a conceptual identity, to pronounce righteous judgment upon them. To let go of judgement does not mean that you don’t see what they do. It means that you recognize their behaviour as a form of conditioning, and you see it and accept it as that. The ego then, no longer runs your relationships.”
