Take care of your heart, soul, and spirit…….find moments to disconnect and just be. How often do you truly unplug from the buzz of life? How often do you seek and find a place of stillness and peace? How long is your mobile phone out of your hand on any given day? The truth is we are extraordinarily busy because we choose to be. The chatter of urgency is speaking in our heads and some days we cannot tread water fast enough to stay afloat. We try to cope by doing everything fast….and by doing so we find ourselves on the treadmill of life. We have given too much of ourselves away…we have over compensated, over delivered, and we no longer know where all the pieces of ourselves are scattered.
At times we mistakenly think that that the only way to increase our value and establish our worth is to go non-stop. But we were never made to keep moving without resting and recharging our energy. In reflection we can see that time has become our master….that we have lost our compass….and our respect for our own time and the time of others. Allow yourself to be this vulnerable….stand in the power of your authentic self, which has no defences and holds on to no pretenses. This is where your power resides….and it is here that you can go when you need to. Just to breathe, to pause, to collect yourself…..and to re-energize in stillness. Peace begins with you.
Don Miguel Ruiz said “Please take a moment this morning to close your eyes, open your heart, and feel all the love that is coming from your heart. Focus your attention on your lungs, as if only your lungs existed. Feel the pleasure when your lungs expand to fulfill the biggest need of the human body – to breathe. Take a deep breath and feel the air as it fills your lungs. Feel how the air is made of love. Notice the connection between the air and the lungs, a connection of love. Expand your lungs with air until your body has the need to expel it. Then inhale and feel the pleasure again. To breathe gives us pleasure. Just to be alive is enough….feel the pleasure of being alive, the pleasure of the feeling of love”
