Today’s Challenge ~ Set a goal for self-care, unplug, and nurture your spirit with something just for you.
Always do your best…..spend a little time each day in devotion to the truth about yourself and your life. Create moments of peace, a place where you can go to experience tranquillity. We have convinced ourselves that we can move through life without ever stopping to top up our gas tank. That our energy, and our emotional and physical wellness is infinite. Too often that is why we are not concerned about our health until we don’t have it. At the centre of a life well lived is the ability to unplug, to have the discipline to slow down, and the ability to love ourselves enough to pause. The images and noise of life must be muted if we want to have a clear picture of what to do next.
As our lives continue, we begin to understand the things that are truly important. We learn that tension comes from who you think you should be, and relaxation is who you are. With acceptance of self…we connect to that place that knows we must take care of ourselves every day. That means, unplugging, and taking moments of stillness and peace in order to rejuvenate our spirit, body, and mind. Indeed, we must become masterful at honouring our soul. We cannot engage with people who leave us feeling drained and empty. As you mature, you will recognize that there are only a handful of people who honour you, versus judge you. So set boundaries, be your own best friend, and instead of always running on adrenaline ….dedicate a moment to yourself and your place in this new day. Namaste
Iyanla Vanzant said “Everything has to stop at some time in order to keep going. When driving, you must pause at stop lights and stop signs. On a train, there may be stops before you reach your destination. Knowing this, why do we believe that we can move from experience to experience without stopping, refuelling or resting. To stop, to rest, or to pause means to do nothing. It means no thinking. No moving. No decisions. What a blessing it is to push the pause button. To have the ability to stop and gather strength or to wait until things have passed before turning a corner and moving forward. A pause in life’s journey does not mean that nothing is happening. In reality, it is a divine opportunity to be present and catch up with all that is going on.”
