Thought for the Day…….
Always do your best……..choose to be in excellent company. Who we choose as our friends is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves. As we mature we realize that while it is appropriate to have an attitude of acceptance when it comes to our friends beliefs, values, and choices we do have to keep everyone in our lives.
Over time as we evolve on our journey there will be those friends and sometimes family who just don’t give us the same respect; whose choices and behaviour are not aligned with the kind of life we want to lead and we will come to realize that we have to let them go. It is important to reflect on what it is we want to create in our lives, what gift, what legacy we want to leave the world and we must do it today.
Intellectually we all know that we must do what we have to do before we can do what we want to do….still it makes no sense to reach the end of our lives and have regrets and disappointment about what could have been. Recent studies show that those with a wide circle of friends and family live longer, laugh more, and worry less and part of your legacy is the enduring friendships you have in your life.
Friendship takes time, energy, and commitment but when we choose our friends wisely and invest in those relationships we will yield the most beautiful and pleasing gift that life can offer. Paul Brunson said “We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.”
