Happy Thursday. This Thought is dedicated to my mother Shirley who would have celebrated her 82nd Birthday this Sunday October 8th. Miss her every day……but so very grateful for her love, all of her lessons, and gifts of wisdom. She remains one of the most intelligent people that I have had the privilege to share this life journey with and the lessons are never farther than my heart. I am profoundly grateful for all that you gave me Mom. Thank you.
To all of you who will be quietly missing someone too…. take the time to celebrate the lives that have touched yours. Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian family, friends, and colleagues who will be celebrating this weekend. Cheers to all the other places that the Thoughts travel to in our beautiful world…… have a great weekend. Remember to start each day with gratitude and send a little love out into the world. Enjoy.

Be committed to a full and happy life……..that means shifting your perspective when your thoughts bring you down. That means asking yourself “Is there a wiser more enlightened way of looking at this seemingly negative situation?” While we must acknowledge our feelings we can also speak gently to ourselves and nudge ourselves towards enjoying the journey and savouring the memories as we go along. When one experiences the loss of someone in their lives it profoundly changes their “normal” and they must learn again to be comfortable and gain the richness out of their new normal.
All of that takes time to get to that place where the pain is a little more gentle and the smiles come a little more readily as you lovingly enjoy your memories of how that person impacted your life and what they taught you that you will never lose…..so honour their spirit with a celebration of them and then pay it forward……….create memories for those in your life…..one day what you have created in their memory bank will need to serve them well.
Kahil Gibran observed “When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you will see in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.”
