Look after yourself……… and manage your emotions because you are the source of their power.  Sometimes people ignore their emotions – but they don’t go away.  Others try to suppress them – but they come out in some other way.  Some indulge their misery and just feel sorry for themselves – but that doesn’t make them feel better.  The most intelligent thing that we can do is to transform our negative emotions by looking for solutions, and learning from the experience by using our emotions effectively to enhance our lives and the lives of those we touch. 

Perhaps the best way to think about our emotions is that they serve us; and when negative emotions surface they are our call to action, they are saying there is something we must do to make things better.  When we feel pain it is usually a result of how we are looking at things….we can change that.  Or it is the result of our current approach….and we can change that.  If we can change our perception or our focus we will change our emotions.

Conversely when we are feeling good and full of happiness then we must be sure to take inventory of what contributed to those positive emotions and repeat those actions so that we can feel great more often.  It is the height of selfishness to allow your bad moods and emotions to travel out into the world with you as they dis-empower you…..empower yourself today and harness the good feelings.
